Toy Joy Funky Bullet Vibrator

I was kindly sent the Toy Joy Funky Bullet Vibrator to test and review from Sweetsutra.com. It comes in three incredibly funky colours and you have a choice of either blue, pink or purple - I was sent the purple bullet.

This cute little Funky Bullet from the Toy Joy range comes presented in a 'cute to match' flexible plastic box complete with a string handle that matches the colour of the bullet. The packaging is really nice, simple, discreet and lacks the cringe that many sex toys' packaging has. On the side of the box the bullet is described as having a 'soft velvet touch' and being 'strong, silent and very funky' and 'waterproof''.
Toy Joy weren't joking when they decided to put 'soft velvet touch' on the side of the packaging as this Funky Bullet has that gorgeous smooth, velvety feel to it that you just can't help but carry on touching, it feels so good! The bullet vibrator is made from a smooth ABS plastic, so either a water-based lubricant or a silicone lubricant may be used as neither will damage your toy.

The Funky Bullet is powered by 3 x cell batteries, which are included with the product so there is no need to purchase them separately prior to using the toy. These batteries can be replaced when they lose power and instructions are provided with battery information. The bullet is operated by a simple one touch push button located on the bottom of the toy, meaning you simply push once to turn on, and push again to turn the toy off. This one touch push button also means that this is a single speed bullet, so if you prefer to start with a slow vibration, gradually increasing the power until you reach orgasm then this Funky Bullet probably isn't for you. It does promise to be silent and strong though! Upon using the bullet for the first time, ensure that you unscrew the base and remove the white tab that has been placed in the battery compartment to stop the toy from going off whilst in its packaging. Screw the base back on, making sure that it is sealed nice and tight as the toy is waterproof - you don't want water leaks damaging the toy.

Bullet vibrators are a fantastic choice if you are new to trying sex toys and this Funky Bullet is a great first toy. Its small size means it's incredibly light in weight, un-intimidating, and what's better, its a great size for travelling, being on the go, and for popping in your handbag in case of an emergency.

Although the primary use for this bullet vibrator would be for clitoral stimulation [either during solo play, foreplay and intercourse], it can be used on practically any part of the body for some light teasing, and there is no reason why guys can't use it too - it can be used on the testicles and / or perineum.

My Experience:

The Toy Joy Funky Bullet Vibrator is without a doubt powerful for its tiny size. The only way I can really describe the kind of vibrations it gives off is a sort of 'high pitched' vibration as opposed to a 'low rumbling' vibration. Having said that, the toy as promised is silent, so if you live with your family or in shared accommodation you'll have no worries about being heard.

The first time I used the Funky Bullet I used a tiny amount of water-based lubricant to make using it a little more pleasurable - the toy is only tiny so you don't need to use loads, just a very small amount. Although the vibrations on the bullet did feel fantastic on my clitoris and surrounding areas, I actually found it really difficult to reach orgasm the first time using the toy. I don't know why as I was just on the edge, but I couldn't manage to go any further no matter how long I had the bullet stimulating me or how much pressure I applied. I figured maybe it was less to do with the bullet itself and more of a psychological reason so I turned the bullet off but didn't give up completely.

I wanted to test the bullet's waterproof seal, which works great. To clean I simply used some soap and hot / warm water and dried off with a clean towel. You can also use a specialised sex toy cleaner or both if you wish. Just to note, I always take the batteries out of my toys prior to cleaning, whether they're waterproof or not.

A few days later I went back to the Funky Bullet, and again I added a small amount of lube to the tip of the toy. I did manage to orgasm this time, but sadly I was left rather disappointed as it was a less intense orgasm than I am used to. I figured I was finally getting somewhere with the bullet vibrator so I left it for an hour or so and went back to it, hoping that this time I would reach a more powerful orgasm. Unfortunately though as soon as I turned the bullet on I could feel it losing power and a couple of minutes later the batteries ran out. My guess is that the batteries last approximately 30 minutes or so.

What do I think this Funky Bullet could benefit from? Design wise I think the toy would benefit from being a bit longer in length, only because my fingers became a little numb from having a firm grip on the toy and having the strong vibrations and motor near my fingertips because of its size. This leads me nicely to my next point. Having a longer length would also allow for a different type of battery to power the toy. Yes, the resulting vibrations may be different, but the toy would be more practical. The 3 x cell batteries that are used to power the bullet don't last long and are fairly expensive to replace, especially as opposed to the more popular and extremely cheap AAA battery, or even the N battery - either of these would be a more practical choice. I would also expect a bullet vibrator that takes cell batteries to be slightly cheaper than it is, only due to the cost of replacing the batteries that it operates on.

There is also no mention on either the packaging or the instruction leaflet of what the material that the bullet is made of and contains, i.e. latex or phthalates. Although the bullet is made from ABS plastic, I would imagine that the material is latex and phthalates free, however I will not say for definite whether this is true or not.

Is it soft? Yes. Is it strong? Yes. Is it silent? Yes. Is it waterproof? Yes.
Although the Toy Joy Funky Bullet Vibrator is all that it promises to be, unfortunately it just didn't do it for me. It's powerful, just not quite as powerful as I like my toys; I'm also preferable to 'low rumbling' vibrations. But just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for someone else, it all depends on the person, their sensitivity, and what works for them and their body. Although I was a little let down with the results from using the bullet on my clit, I really, really liked the teasing vibrations on other parts of my body when used for massaging, and I would without a doubt keep using it for this purpose - I guess I'm just more sensitive in certain areas than I am in others.

In my opinion, because of it's small size, I'd say that the bullet is definitely aimed more towards sex toy beginners as well as towards couples for use during intercourse. So, if you're a beginner and looking for something small, non realistic, unintimidating then this bullet is a great choice. If you're a couple looking for something small to slip between you during sex just to give her a bit of extra clitoral stimulation, then this is a fantastic choice too!
