Bettie Page Buzzin' Bullet Vibrator and Orgasm Balm Set

A few months ago I was sent two products to review from the brand new and recently released Bettie Page range sold exclusively at Lovehoney.co.uk. I knew about the development of this fantastic range and have been anticipating its release for quite a while now, even before I was contacted about testing a couple of products from the range, so you can imagine my excitement when I checked my emails and was kindly asked to review this 'Buzzin' Bullet Vibrator and Orgasm Balm Set' as well as the 'Vibro-A-Go-Go Classic Silicone Vibrator'; You can find my review of this product here.

The Buzzin’ Bullet and Orgasm Balm Set comes beautifully presented in a sturdy black presentation box with a cardboard slip. It's so elegant, is perfect to give as a gift and I absolutely love it! I think it may even top my love of the Lelo packaging. The vibrator is a larger than usual, multi-function bullet style vibe which has 3 speeds and 3 patterns, and can be used for both clitoral stimulation as well as shallow penetration. The orgasm balm is light in texture and is used to heighten your senses to help you achieve and / or improve those all important O's. Both are nestled in a velvety feel inlay tray along side a cute little key chain charm, and a collector’s card.

The Buzzin’ Bullet Vibrator:
The silver vibrator is made form a rigid ABS plastic which feels nice and sleek to the touch, it is also latex and phthalate free and so very body safe. Either a water-based or silicone lubricant can be used if you want to make things extra slippery. The vibrator is submersible and so is safe to use near water as well as in shallow depths of water too - just make sure that the base is screwed on nice and tight at all times to avoid water damage.

It is powered by 2 x AAA batteries (not included) which is great as they’re cheap and easy to get hold of. Just unscrew the base of the vibrator and pop them in, then screw the base back on nice and tight. The one-touch button on the base of the toy turns it on / off and clicks through the functions. As said before there are 3 different speed intensities and 3 patterns which are: wave, cha cha cha chaaaaa, slow pulsation. To turn off press and hold the button for around 4-5 seconds.

In Use I find the lowest and medium settings to be rather quiet and the sound can easily be muffled underneath a duvet. On the highest setting the vibrator does become quite audible, but still may not be heard from the other side of the door depending on how far away you are from it. I find the vibrator fairly powerful, however it does give off quite ‘high-pitched buzzy’ vibrations as opposed to ‘deep and rumbly’ vibrations, and when used on the highest speed my clitoris often becomes a little numb after a few minutes because of this. With this vibrator I usually just stick to the lowest speed to build up then change to the medium when I’m close which provides fairly satisfying orgasms. As always, the patterns don’t really have any effect on my clitoris and so I tend to stay away from them and the Bettie Page vibrator is no exception.

Cleaning the vibrator both before and after use should always be done. Either a simple anti-bacterial soapy water solution or a sex toy cleaner are perfectly fine to use.

The Orgasm Bombshell Balm:
The mint orgasm boosting balm is contained within a silver metal tin which features an image of Bettie on the lid, yet it doesn’t look like a product that should be kept for the bedroom and could probably be left on the side without any questions asked. In fact, some might very well mistake it for a pot of lip balm. Although the image below doesn't show it, the balm does arrive with a protective seal inside the tin for hygiene reasons.

The consistency of the balm is very thick and firm whilst still in the pot, but light and slightly oily on skin, similar to Vaseline. Although it is a mint balm, in my opinion it smells more like melon or cucumber. You don’t need to scoop it out onto your finger as a little really does go a long way, so all you need to do is rub the tip of your finger over the surface until you have a thin layer on your skin, then apply it to the desired area(s) and let the magic happen. The purpose of the balm is to heighten your sensitivity, and I find the sensation is a rather cooling, tingling sensation which feels really nice and pleasurable.

I've used the vibrator in this set both with and without the balm, and can definitely say that using the balm increased my sensitivity and has provided more explosive and satisfying orgasms than using the vibrator on it’s own. Despite the vibrator numbing me on the higher settings, I’m still really pleased with this set as well as its beautiful packaging. It’s a fantastic gift for any Bettie Page fan!
